Took a day tour to the famous Taj Mahal.
I’ve always wanted to visit Taj Mahal since I saw the movie “The namesake”.
It’s about 3.5 hours drive from New Delhi
I got a tour guide and he explained all the story behind the Taj Mahal to me.
I loved the story behind and amazed with architecture of Taj Mahal! Cannot believe this amazing monument was built almost 400 years ago.
Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan built Taj Mahal for the memory of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz passed away when she gave birth to their 14th child.
Shah had two wives before Mumtaz but he was not able to have any children with both of the wives.
Shah had 14 children with his third wife Mumtaz.
Taj Mahal is made by white marble. Still today the same technique is used when fixing the Taj Mahal.
This Arabic is made by embedding Black marble.
Black marble was Mumtaz’s favorite stone.
handmade white marble coffee/tea cup made by 14th generation craftsman family.
Monkey took ice cream from a tourist.
Yay! With Taj Mahal!
Took a day trip to Haridwar. River Ganga begins from Haridwar and it’s one of the holy place in Hindu religion.
It took about 4 hr via car from New Delhi
First stop – Mansa Devi Temple
One of the popular Hindu temple and use ropeway to get to the temple. Little long line to for the ropeway. The view was nice and ropeway was pretty fun!
Once got to the top, walk to the temple. Met monkey god(Hanuman) on the way.
You need to take shoes off to enter the temple. Souvenir shop on the way to the temple will keep the shoes for you. Though, you will probably need to buy something from them. which is also a good experience:)
Overall, very cultured experience! Most of the people were from some parts of India(I think probably people who believe in Hindu). Did not see any foreigner(people who do not speak Hindi) there.
There view from the temple was also very nice!
Second stop – Har Ki Pauri
People were dipping into the Ganga river here. It is a holy custom. Some people also took the Ganga river water back.
Again, very cultured experience. There are some shops and hotels along the river and it’s pretty organized for tourist.
It was pretty fun to walk around to see people enjoying in the river. I saw pretty big monkey as well.
I feel like want to record every moment of this experience.
Took Uber from Indira Gandhi International Airport to my hotel.
Another part of the world I’ve never experienced. New and different
Had breakfast from hotel patio.
Someone was singing on the street and people, car, bike, everything will pass by none stop.
Feel like I can stay there and watch people for very long time.
Arrived in Singapore!!
Took Uber to Marina area
Walk around the area for about 2 hours
Around 9pm, temperature was nice to walk around
Took public subway back to the airport from the bay front subway station
It was beautiful!
Pack everything I need.
….It’s pretty much all black
Met with friend before my trip.
We were only planning to meet for a quick happy hour. We were way pass the happy hour, and she ended up coming over for another wine and food at my place. We talked, talked and talked.
We had a great talk. Feel connected.
How lucky is that to have a friend you care, can be honest and share everything with:)
Such a good girls night out.
